Legacy Coupling Analysis
Deep examination of aging cores and the satellite applications that lean on them, clarifying what can move and what must stay coordinated.
Mainframe and early client-server cores often carry decades of satellite applications that read shared tables, call proprietary APIs, or depend on overnight extracts. Legacy coupling analysis documents those ties so modernization planning can separate what is truly immovable from what only feels that way.
How we approach it
We combine owner interviews with whatever technical artifacts exist — schema notes, job schedules, interface control documents — and produce a coupling matrix that program planners can use to stage releases. The work respects that source code may be incomplete; we do not invent certainty where evidence is thin.
Discuss a legacy portfolio if you are planning a multi-year core exit or containment strategy.
